Resurrection Relief Work
Resurrection Church is partnering with the North Carolina Baptist Men's Association at Hyde Park Church in Lumberton, NC to assist in hurricane recovery efforts. Still recovering from Hurricane Matthew two years ago, Lumberton received 22.76 inches of rain during Hurricane Florence. This is only 4 inches less than Wilmington received, 26.58 inches, during the same storm. Lumberton is located in Robeson County, the poorest county in the state of North Carolina and received far more damage in Hurricane Florence than during Hurricane Matthew. Only 30 minutes south of Resurrection Church, members of our church live and work in Lumberton.

Many people who just finished rebuilding after Matthew were flooded out again by Florence and now face daunting hopelessness. This is where the body of Christ can help. If you would like to volunteer for a day, a week or more, please contact Resurrection Relief Coordinator, James Phillips at: 910-973-5919 or email him at: [email protected]
Between September 26 - November 20 we are looking for teams of volunteers to do Muck-Out work, serve meals for lunch and dinner, clean, and help with additional volunteer work in Lumberton and Robeson County homes and shelters. Muck-Out work involves tearing out drywall, wet insulation, throwing out ruined furniture, and clearing houses out for the rebuild process to begin. Each job site has been requested, assessed and assigned through a detailed vetting process set up by the NC Baptist Men's Association. Muck-Out work will be challenging and dirty. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided, as well as bathroom facilities and a place to sleep. Groups that can bring their own tools are a bonus. In coordination with the NC Baptist Men's Association, we will find the work that is appropriate for your skill level and ability.
